Timelines

During our WIN time "What I Need" we have been talking about inventors! We have learned about flow charts, t-charts, and now timelines! I decided last minute while the kids were out at recess today that it would be fun to do a close read and then create a timeline about the person we read about! So we read about John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed) and created a timeline on our floor in the front of the room. Anything that relates to a memorable experience I am all for! Below is a picture of our time line in the works. The kids came up with what should be on our timeline and where it should be placed.

Here are a couple more pictures from earlier this week while we learned about the inventor of the YO-YO and a young inventor (1st grader) who invented a board game! Ask your child about Kylie or Pedro! :) 

Each child will eventually choose their own inventor to write a biography on. So many of the kids have been asking about "who invented......?" Look up some fun different inventors with you child....One example we looked up was "Who is the inventor of pizza."
